Daily challenge winners Tyson Apostol and Cashay Proudfoot tried to read who they wanted to pit Cinco and Azah against in elimination. However, Cinco didn’t want to put all his cards in, since he didn’t trust his ex-girlfriend, Cashay. In a surprising twist, Tyson and Cashay threw Sarah and Leo, causing the surviving winner for being furious with her former castmate. The elimination challenge left both teams scrambling in the dark, but in the end, Sarah and Leo emerged victorious.

Screen Rant: What did you two look like as a couple? you were close the challenge house?

Cinco: Azah, this is my girl right here. This is my queen. So I said, we had partners, I was excited. I said, okay, well, I hope it’s not a swimming challenge, but other than that, we’re good, Gucci.

Azah: Yes, we are friends outside the house and we were friends before we entered the challenge house, so we were excited to be together, as long as it wasn’t a swimming challenge. It was known throughout the house that he couldn’t swim. We were just hoping it wasn’t a swimming challenge, but for the most part we were glad we were paired up.

It seemed like the two of you stayed at home and didn’t get involved in much politics. What was your strategy in the game?

Azah: So for me, how I approach the games, what’s best for me in the way that I feel good about myself and I feel good about what I’ve done is that I stay close. I tend to focus more on my social relationships and making sure that I have good genuine relationships with people, that people wouldn’t want to put me down or dump me and I just get used to it instead of going into it . gameplay I have adapted to the gameplay that has been given to me. I took the same approach here. I hadn’t prepared before going in, so I just wanted to stay low and not be seen as a threat and hopefully open up towards the final.

Cinco: I just wanted to go in and win. I wanted to make new friends and make new acquaintances, and new teams and new shows, because I didn’t really know anyone. Obviously, I knew Azah and I knew Tiff, but from other shows, that was kind of it. I wanted to meet him surviving people, the Amazing runners because it would be important to know later, as far as the association is concerned, its strengths and weaknesses. Just meeting everyone and laying low until I had to make a big move for my game and trying to stay out of the drama as much as possible. It’s hard with your ex in there, but I did the best I could.

Let’s talk about the daily challenge. That water was brown. What did you think about jumping into that murky water?

Cinco: Honestly, at that point, my headspace was like, this is ridiculous, but I have to do it to win. I have a partner who depends on me, I depend on her, so I’m like, “Fuck it.” We’re going to do what we have to do, we’re going to swim the best we can and we’re going to do our best not to come last, we’re going to do our best in this challenge.

Azah: It disgusted me. I told myself, I wanted to move on, but I was quite surprised that it passed the health inspection.

Cinco: I was very sick after that too. I threw up…all of it. It must have been something in that water.

Azah, at the end it looked like you were struggling a lot. What motivated you to give it the final push?

Azah: You know, I’m not a quitter. And you know, when you’re in these challenges and you’re with a partner, you don’t want to feel completely responsible for the demise… the failure of the two of you. And yes I wanted to give up, I felt like throwing in the towel at that moment, but at that moment I’m not playing for myself. I’m also playing Cinco. I didn’t want to regret feeling like I didn’t put everything in.

When you had that meeting with Tyler and Cash, do you think not saying who you wanted to go against hurt you in the long run?

Cinco: Honestly, it helped in the long run. If Tyson threw another one surviving, they can blame everything on Tyson. It had nothing to do with us. It was their decision, it was Cash’s decision, so it would be strictly on them. This is what Azah and I were talking about. We were doing it for the long haul. We also had people we’d rather go against, but at the same time I feel like it was a better play in the long run.

Cinco, what made you not trust cash?

Cinco: Many things happened, many things were said about me that were not true, many rumors were spread that were not true. A lot of people were afraid to be around me or talk to me because of the situation that was going on between them and me, so it’s like, if you’re not talking to someone and you’re feeling things, it’s kind of hard to trust them. Especially in a game like this. There is no bad blood. I have nothing against her, but in a game like this you want to work with people you trust.

Now that you’re no longer in the game, can you share who you wanted to go against?

Azah: Yeah, we actually felt like a good match for us would be Alyssa and David, but we didn’t feel comfortable going forward with that information that it was someone from [Big Brother] and it wouldn’t look right on me if I said I want to go against someone in my own alliance after taking someone out of our alliance the week before. So we thought it was best for us to keep our mouths shut and let them make the decision so we didn’t have blood on our hands.

Leo and Sarah had a completely different strategy for the elimination challenge. Do you have a strategy in place or have you simply disconnected it?

Cinco: We had a bit of a strategy. It was somewhat similar to his. They used numbers, we used letters, basically like shirt sizes small, medium, large, extra large. We wanted to make it like, this is going to be quick, this is the top four, come out, put the top four. Go with the next four, put these four. We went in there, a little nervous and a little oblivious to where we were. So we were trying to feel them, it was difficult because we didn’t have a prerequisite of how they felt before, which we should have. And it’s very dark in there. It was a little hard to hear them out at first. So we had a strategy, it really didn’t go as well as we thought it would. We still did our best. We started to get it at the end but it was too late.

It looked like you were in the dark bin when TJ blew his horn. You heard it from the inside and when you realized it you lost it?

Azah: Yes, we heard it from the inside. Yes, we heard it from the inside.

Cinco: (Smiling) I just hate losing. That’s all. It’s all good.
