Everywhere Everything at once directors, the Daniels, have marked their next project. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, aka Daniels, are film directors and writers who began their careers as music video directors, while also creating their own short films and working on some television shows. Since then they have delved deeper into feature films, having written and directed the surrealist comedy-drama. Swiss army man in 2016, and most recently the 2022 sci-fi action comedy Everywhere Everything at oncewhich has since become A24’s highest-grossing film of all time.
Now, for Limit date, Daniels has his next project in the works: a half-hour comedy pilot, mason, produced by A24 for Showtime. The duo will direct and executive produce alongside actor/producer Steven Yeun and writer, cartoonist and comedian Nathan Min. Min is also the creator of the project and will star in the title role. Mason is a surreal comedy based on Min’s real-life experiences, revolving around a quiet man named Nathan, often misheard as “Mason,” who seeks connection in a noisy world.
Coming out of his hit movie Everywhere Everything at once, which has really cemented the duo in the film industry, the Daniels’ new project should be a blockbuster hit. While further plot or casting details are scarce at the moment, fans of the filmmakers needn’t worry. With this upcoming surrealist-themed series once again produced by A24, the Daniels should feel right at home and on their way to more critical acclaim, as with Everywhere Everything at once.
