This year’s Halloween season gets even spookier with the release of ghost, an eerily familiar story about a girl and her ghost. I like Halloween Spirit and the upcoming resurgence of Disney+ Goosebumps, Ghoster looks like it offers a lot of fun for kids of all ages. The film, directed by Ryan Bellgardt, even looks to appeal to older audiences with its somewhat direct callback to the 1995 supernatural adventure film. Casper. I like Casper, ghost features the poltergeist of a young boy trapped inside a large mansion who befriends a girl and her single father. The group must also fend off intruders who want to reclaim the house for nefarious purposes. Unlike Casper, ghost also includes elements indicative of fantasy films like Harry Potter and it could be a much more elaborate and exciting family film.
