Wales’ Geraint Thomas won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games after falling in the early stages of the men’s cycling time trial as England’s Fred Wright took silver.

Wright was 26.28 seconds off Australia’s Rohan Dennis’ winning time of 46 minutes 21.24 seconds.

Thomas, who was 28.49 seconds behind Dennis, fell and lost about 30 seconds in the first few kilometers.

Earlier, England’s Anna Henderson won silver in the women’s time trial.

Australia’s Grace Brown took gold in 40 minutes 05.20 seconds, with Henderson in 33.35 seconds, while New Zealand’s Georgia Williams was third.
