Game Of Thrones: 10 Actors Who Should Join The MCU And Who They Could Play
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has long been praised for its lighthearted tone, seamlessly mixing comedy with high stakes and big spectacle. This has been so successful, in part, thanks to the franchise’s expert casting.
Fortunately, they’ve found the right people to play key roles in film and television, and it’s helped that some are already part of a major franchise that dominated pop culture. game of thrones. Peter Dinklage, Richard Madden and Kit Harrington have already appeared, with Emilia Clarke joining next year secret invasion. Even from the old Netflix-Marvel sphere, both Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick had prominent roles and could recur soon. From game of thrones many actors would make great additions to the MCU, and here’s who they could play.
10 Lena Headey – Hera
Lena Headey was already set to join the MCU and we hope she will do so again in the future. She was played by a mystery role Thor: Love and Thunderbut his scenes did not make it to the final cut (for variety). There are several possibilities as to who Headey could have played if it was a one-off role, including Gorr’s late wife or Valkyrie’s lost love. However, she is perfect for a character like Hera who could have a lasting future in the MCU.
The film’s post-credits scene featured Hercules, played by Ted LassoBrett Goldstein, which sets up the arrival of other Olympians, along with Zeus’ war with mortals. Hera would surely play a big role in this, whether or not she joins Thor 5 oh Hercules solo project Headey would be a good choice to play Russell Crowe as Zeus, and he’s already shown how he can make an awesome and vindictive ruler like Cersei Lannister.
9 Nikolaj Coster-Waldau – Doctor Doom
Like Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would make a phenomenal antagonist in the MCU, specifically, one of the biggest Marvel villains missing from the MCU, Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom. Jaime’s journey game of thrones it was excellent stuff overall, regardless of feelings about its ending. That’s because Coster-Waldau was really able to get the audience rooting for him and that’s something Doctor Doom will need.
There’s a reason why Doctor Doom is one of the most important characters in Marvel Comics: he’s not just evil for evil’s sake. He has different motivations, many of which might agree with heroes like the Fantastic Four, but it’s his methods that make him a villain, or at least an anti-hero at times. There are rumors that it could already appear Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverand whether that’s true or not, Coster-Waldau would be fantastic in the role.
8 Sophie Turner – Jean Grey
Of course, Sophie Turner is no stranger to playing a superhero, although her latest experience wasn’t particularly well received. Unfortunately, the fox X Men The franchise was riddled with chaos and continuity issues, so there was no saving it dark phoenix. However, Turner deserves a second chance to play Jean Gray and with the stable base in the MCU, this could turn out to be much better than before.
While fans have been eagerly awaiting the X-Men since Kevin Feige first teased them years ago, after the latest news from Comic-Con, it’s more thought that they will finally arrive later in Phase Six. more likely, Avengers: Secret Wars will unite multiple universes that could incorporate aspects of the FoxX Men franchise that includes Turner as Jean Grey.
7 Maisie Williams – Captain Britain (Betsy Braddock)
Maisie Williams was also part of the unfortunate X Men universe, playing Rahne Sinclair aka Wolfsbane the new mutants. Of course, as Sophie Turner, Williams could reprise that role in the MCU, but she might actually be better suited for a different mutant, Betsy Braddock, aka Captain Britain. She’s a pretty complex and confusing character, but like her brother, Brian, she’s connected to the expanding Multiverse, which could make her a prominent figure in the MCU.
Betsy is strangely connected to the mutant, Kwannon, as they had swapped bodies for several decades in the comics. While Betsy’s mind was in Kwannon’s body, she operated as Psylocke, who is best known as the ninja with a psychic energy blade. That connection may be difficult to translate to the MCU, but it’s not entirely out of the question. Although, they could forgo that and just cast both Betsy as Captain Britain, for which Williams would be a candidate, and Kwannon as Psylocke.
6 Gwendoline Christie – Moondragon
As with other actors of game of thrones, Gwendoline Christie’s role as Brienne of Tarth was a breakthrough. She had then appeared as the secondary antagonist Phasma al War of the galaxies sequel trilogy and most recently as Lucifer The sand man. He would still be a great addition to the MCU, and there are several roles he could take on. Christie in particular would make a great Moondragon.
Heather Douglas aka Moondragon is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy who is strangely connected to Drax the Destroyer. Essentially, after Heather’s father died, her spirit found a new body: Drax’s. She is a highly capable martial artist, exceptionally intelligent, and potentially one of the mystery roles Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. If it’s not Moondragon, Christie could also do other cosmic characters like Angela, Thor’s half-sister, or Supergiant.
5 Natalie Dormer – Emma Frost
Many viewers may not remember that Natalie Dormer has already appeared in the MCU as Private Lorraine, who flirted with Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger. This should not limit a future involvement, as Gemma Chen has already played several roles in the MCU. Dormer has a lot of options available, but the best bet might be Emma Frost; other options could be Sue Storm or Moonstone.
Emma is a unique telepathic mutant, who is also characterized by her ability to transform into diamond form. He has a storied history in the comics as both a villain and a hero, being part of the Hellfire Club and even leading the X-Men for a time. Whenever the X-Men finally arrive in the MCU, Emma Frost should definitely be a major player in their stories, and Dormer exemplified the perfect level of charisma and cunning as Margery Tyrell for the role.
4 Nathalie Emmanuel – Storm
Nathalie Emmanuel has been part of several other popular franchises as well game of thrones – predominantly in recent years Fast & Furious movies This has allowed her to display a different set of skills than she had to use as Missandei game of thrones. Bringing her into the MCU would allow her to use all of her talents, especially if she’s cast as Storm.
Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, is one of the most significant and powerful characters still missing from the MCU, and many were hoping she would finally come into play. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever played by Michaela Coel. Although this has been debunked, Storm’s arrival is still looming on the horizon. Emmanuel would be a great storm as he has shown that he displayed the emotional range and wit needed for the character.
3 Iwan Rheon – Nightmare
After the iconic death of Ramsay Bolton in the sixth season of game of thronesIwan Rheon was among the unfortunate and much maligned inhumans series playing Maximus. For a long time, there was confusion about whether the show was part of the MCU or not. The current consensus is that as Agents of SHIELD and fugitives, inhumans is adjacent to MCU – existing in another universe from main continuity. This could open up the possibility of Rheon taking on a different role in the MCU.
Rheon would still be a great antagonist and could bring the chaos needed for a relatively underrated villain like Nightmare. He is the ruler of the Dream Dimension, which is referred to Loki – and a common enemy for supernatural heroes. This could mean he would have come into play opposing Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and/or Ghost Rider to name a few.
2 Joe Dempsie – Captain Britain (Brian Braddock)
While Maisie Williams could be a good Betsy Braddock, his romantic counterpart game of thrones, Joe Dempsie would be a good fit for his brother, Brian Braddock. He is the first Captain Britain, who debuted in 1976, although he is not an analogue for Captain America, as his name might suggest. Captain Britain has some connections to ancient magic, as he got his powers from Merlin.
It could come into play as part of a black knight solo project starring Kit Harrington, before finally getting his own. Importantly, with his sister, Brian is part of the Captain Britain Corps, a team of variants of Captain Britain who together protect the stability of the Omniverse – the Multiverse that includes not only Marvel Comics but even DC. So if Captain Britain is introduced, it could lead to a crossover with the DCEU.
1 Pedro Pascal – White Tiger
Even though it was just there game of thrones for a single season as Oberyn Martell, Pedro Pascal remains one of the most memorable cast members. Of course, it has since found a new home in the direction of the stream War of the galaxies franchise as Din Djarin a The Mandalorian. However, fans would still love to see him play a role in the MCU, and there are still some good options available. In other words, Pascal could become a great Hector Ayala aka White Tiger.
He is one of the most talented hand-to-hand fighters in the comics, as well as an outstanding street-level hero. As such, White Tiger could be introduced as a supporting character to Daredevil, Shang-Chi, and/or Spider-Man. However, her costume might be too similar to Moon Knights, so they might go with Hector’s successors, Angela and/or Ava instead.
