elastic took to Instagram to reveal the full House of the Dragon opening credits with Ramin Djawadi’s iconic game of thrones theme included. Described as a “visual history of the Targaryen bloodline”, the opening credits contrast with a backdrop of the walls of Old Valyria, following the symbolic spilled blood throughout the castle. The House of the Dragon The opening sequence gives fans an exciting glimpse into the history of the Targaryen family tree, with blood representing subsequent marriages and children who will, or already have, sat on the Iron Throne. With an ever-changing family dynamic, credits are likely to change with the Targaryens as they marry or are born, similar to game of thrones‘ evolving title sequence. Undoubtedly, the most noticeable changes will come as the family expands, specifically when the children of Alicent and Viserys are born, and with the birth of Daemon and Rhaenyra’s children. Some eagle-eyed fans even noticed that important figures from Targaryen history are missing from the credits, confirming that the line depicted only shows the direct line to the Iron Throne for the Targaryens.


However, not everyone is completely satisfied with it House of the Dragon opening credits. Some fans of the franchise are disappointed that the sequel does not feature original music, or even an updated and rearranged version of Djawadi.
