Defeating Hjalmgunnar in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Forgotten Saga

The battle is divided into two phases where the first phase will consist of close range combat. Hjalmgunnar will try to hit Odin with his scythe. Don’t try to parry, as most of the fire giant’s attacks cannot be countered; simply grab and roll, then prepare to hit during Hjalmgunnar’s cooldown. Odin should be able to take a few hits before the fire giant continues his attacks. Keep hitting during the vulnerable moments after the fire giant’s strong attacks; eventually, his health will drop to half and trigger the next phase.

Same as Sutr, the final head of Dawn of Ragnarok, Hjalmgunnar has reason to hate the Allfather. After making a deal that would have elevated Hjalmgunnar’s rank, Odin betrayed him and sent him to Niflheim, where he rebuilt his body and plotted revenge. The orb on Hjalmgunnar’s back is an important part of the battle. The orb will open to reveal a burning iris and shoot fireballs at the Allfather. Odin will have to deal with the close range attacks of the first phase as well as the ranged fire attacks. A the red wave will deploy during Hjalmgunnar’s heavy attack, which means a firestorm. Players must dodge and get close to the giant before the fire is unleashed. Once in the inner circle, more fireballs will fall and players can simply dodge these attacks and hit Hjalmgunnar. The eye, as powerful as it can be, is also an excellent target. A few arrows and well-timed attacks should bring Hjalmgunnar to his knees.

It might take a few tries, but that’s the beauty of it Assassin’s Creed Valhallathe scoundrel-like setting. Several races are to be expected and cheered for. However, if the Allfather seems like he’s struggling a bit too much, consider changing the weapon types. Now that Dokkerland is over and Hjalmgunnar has been defeated, players must prepare for the poisonous region of Nidheim and its ruler, Nidhogg, in the next section of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Forgotten saga
