11 Famous Actors Who Will Make Their First MCU Appearance in 2023

While it’s been theorized that Marvel’s own version of the devil will eventually appear, it appears to be just around the corner as Sacha Baron Cohen is in talks to play Mephisto. Bill Murray (Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania)
As for movie icons, Bill Murray headlines 2023’s MCU newcomers, as the comedic actor will appear in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Although the triple-header is only a few months away, it is still unknown who Murray is playing in the film.
But while he’s widely speculated to be another Old Man of the Universe, fans would love to see him reprise his role as Phil in Groundhog Day in Quantumania. Considering that the Ant-Man movies hew closer to comedy than most of the other MCU releases, and that the new movie will double down on the craziness of the multiverse is certainly possible, but highly unlikely.
Aubrey Plaza (Agatha: Coven Of Chaos)
curiously, Agatha: Coven of Chaos is one of the most hyped 2023 MCU releases, and that’s despite being one of the furthest away and having few details about what the show will be about. However, along with the witch aesthetic, one piece of information that is confirmed is that Aubrey Plaza will have a role in the series.
Plaza is one of the best comedy actors working today, as are his performances Funny People i Parks and Recreation are some of the most memorable releases. But he has also shown how great a dramatic actor he can be with the recent release Emily the criminal, too. It has not been announced which character he will play, but fans think Plaza will be a villain.
Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3)
black adam isn’t the only anti-hero named Adam to appear in a superhero movie, as Adam Warlock will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May 2023. It’s been years since Will Poulter was confirmed to star as Adam Warlock, and it comes nearly six years after Adam was first teased in one of the many Guardians Vol. 2 mid-credits scenes in the MCU.
Adam Warlock is an artificial being who was created to destroy the Guardians, and will be the intergalactic team’s greatest nemesis to date. Poulter isn’t the most obvious choice for the character, but Marvel Studios’ casting decisions have rarely been wrong in the past, and it will be interesting to see what it is. Labyrinth Corridor the actor brings to the film.
Christopher McDonald (Secret Invasion)
Few actors are instantly recognizable and stand out for a single role in their entire career, but Christopher McDonald is. Although he has countless film and television credits to his name, McDonald is almost exclusively known for playing Shooter McGavin in the hilarious golf flick. Happy Gilmore. But it’s such an iconic character that the actor is still loved by him 26 years later.
Fans would love nothing more than to see McDonald Happy Gilmore 2, but while a legacy sequel would be a lot of fun, the actor appearing in the mcu is the best. The actor has been cast in an undisclosed role in the Disney+ MCU series secret invasion. The actor could play a Skrull who has taken the form of a human, or simply a SHIELD agent.
Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania)
Despite her young age, Kathryn Newton has had an accomplished career. And after starring Lady Bird, Three advertising posters, Detective Pikachu, and many others, already has a filmography that much older actors could only dream of. In 2023, that success will continue as she plays Cassie Lang Quantumania.
But while fans love Cassie’s purple dress Quantumania trailer, it’s hard to ignore that this is the second time the character has been recast. Kathryn Newton is the third actor to play Scott’s daughter. While the first time the character was recast due to the age difference after the five-year time jump Avengers: Endgame, there is no clear reason for reformulation here. It could mean that there is another time jump in the next film, or even that it takes place in a different universe.
Dermot Mulroney (secret invasion)
Like McDonald, Dermot Mulroney has one of those faces that fans can recognize from anywhere. The actor has appeared in hundreds of films and television shows, including Insidious: Chapter 3 i new girl. His most notable performances are in David Fincher’s serial killer thriller zodiac and the hit 90s sitcom Friends. Although these two properties could not be at other ends of the spectrum, secret invasion it will sit somewhere in the middle.
The Disney+ series will likely have some comedy, especially with all the shapeshifting. But it will also be more of a thriller, since no one will be able to trust anyone, and will probably keep viewers guessing as to who is and who isn’t a Skrull. Like McDonald, Mulroney’s role on the show is currently undisclosed.
Emilia Clarke (Secret Invasion)
Emilia Clarke has become one of the biggest actors working today after her lead role in game of thrones and playing Qi’ra Solo: A Star Wars Story. And it looks like it’s in Disney’s pocket, as well as being in your pocket War of the galaxies universe, will also be part of the MCU secret invasion Disney+ series.
While most of the actors announced to be entering the MCU next year have undisclosed roles, Clarke’s role is one of the few that fans actually know about. Clarke will play Abigail Brand, a SWORD commander who protects Earth from alien threats, so she’ll likely be working against the Skrulls in the upcoming Disney+ series. And given that it is such a key role, secret invasion it could be Clarke’s first MCU appearance of many.
Joe Locke (Agatha: Coven Of Chaos)
At just 19 years old, Joe Locke is the youngest actor to be introduced to the MCU in 2023, and he received just one major credit to his name, which is an impressive feat in itself. Locke starred in the coming-of-age comedy series on Netflix Heartstopperand her performance in that alone was enough to make Marvel Studios casting agents take a second look.
It is still unclear who is playing Locke in the series, but MCU fans are speculating that he will be playing Billy Maximoff. Playing an older version of Wanda’s son makes perfect sense, given that he looks like the youngest actor to play the character and Agatha: Coven of Chaos is essentially a sequel to WandaVision.
Olivia Colman (Secret Invasion)
It looks like Marvel Studios has gone all out when it comes to casting secret invasion. Along with some incredibly seasoned character actors, the Disney+ series will see Olivia Colman step into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is one of the most exciting casting announcements as she is an Academy Award winner and also a great comedy actress, seen in the classic British comedy series. Peep Show.
Unlike the other actors in the series, it has been revealed what Colman’s role in the show is, as she will play Sonya Falsworth, Fury’s former ally. Hopefully, Colman isn’t underutilized like other Oscar winners in the MCU, like Forest Whitaker and Tommy Lee Jones.
Zawe Ashton (Wonders)
The wonders It’s Understated will be one of the most exciting superhero team-up films of recent years, as it will see Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau working together. And given that they will form such a powerful team, they will obviously need an equally powerful threat.
While it hasn’t been revealed who the villain is, Zawe Ashton will play the antagonist, whoever that is. Fans have theorized that Ashton could play either Titannus or Rogue, and given his theater background and endless portfolio of British dramas and comedies, he could play either.
Anthony Ramos (Ironheart)
Anthony Ramos is best known for his roles in Hamilton, A Star Is Borni In the Heights, and is apparently the go-to actor for any upcoming musical epic. But he’s also been in blockbuster movies, and in 2023 he’ll play Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, in iron heart.
Looks like 2023 is going to be a big year for the actor as he also stars in the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beasts as well as being incorporated into the MCU. Although unlikely, given that Ramos is often hired for musical roles thanks to his Broadway success, there could be a musical number in the Disney+ series “Agatha All Along.”
