Mario Kart 8: Every new course included in the Booster Course Wave 3 release, ranked
On November 21, 2022, Nintendo revealed the 8 courses included Mario Kart 8‘s Booster Course Pass Wave 3, which will be added to the game on December 7th. The popular songs taken from previous ones Mario Kart The Entities have been superbly remastered and enhanced to give avid players a nostalgic treat, with many of the series’ most iconic songs making a glorious return in time for Christmas.
Whether through Berlin, London, Boo Lake, Maple Treeway or the ever popular Rainbow Road, the last one Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass shows that game designers are listening to fans’ requests and giving them the courses they’ve been asking for.
8/8 London Loop – MK Tour
Remastered from Visit Mario Kart (2019), London Loop is slated to be the first track in the upcoming Rock Cop, indicating its easy difficulty level. Despite some impressive tourist attractions such as Big Ben and the London Eye Millennium Wheel, the city route is short, simple and not very challenging. It is also very similar to MK’s First wave of DLC courses like Tokyo Blur and Paris Promenade from previous Booster Course passes, which makes it feel a bit repetitive.
One thing that London Loop has in its favor this time around is its altered road surfaces that include asphalt roads, dirt roads and cobblestones, which are sure to present drivers with more challenges than previous variants of the track. However, the fact that the London Loop was introduced only three years ago also makes its return less exciting than the older ones.
7/8 Berlin Byways – Visit Mario Kart
Also adapted from MK Tour, Berlin Byways is the first course in the all-time beloved racing video game’s upcoming Moon Cup, putting it on par with the London Loop in terms of basic difficulty level. However, with its winding Bahnhof underground and the ability to drive inside a train car to collect an item, labyrinthine roundabouts, glider ramps and altered paths from one turn to the next, it’s much more exciting to tour that London Loop.
Even more visceral, Berlin Byways also features narrow tunnels, off-road shortcuts, urban parks, destructive Thwomps and a host of different road surfaces like bricks and sand to give drivers everything they can handle. Unfortunately, as most MK players know, city tours and circuits are rarely as fun as the more exotic off-road, underwater and space tracks.
6/8 Rock Rock Mountain – Mario Kart 7
Remastered from mario kart 7, Rock Rock Mountain will be the third track Mario Kart 8’s Rock Cup Although it’s quite difficult due to the winding cliff course loaded with creepy glider ramps that make it easy to fly over the edge, the track is too similar to the recently added Choco Mountain, which was included in the Booster Course Wave 2. Also, it’s the second mountain course in Wave 3, which makes it somewhat redundant.
A polarizing track in the past, MK Players tend to love or hate Rock Rock Mountain, despite the incredible music. The best part of the revised Rock Rock Mountain is the underground cave part that leads to an exhilarating board and ramp that sends players flying through the trees. However, the punishing uphill section that follows is too long and laborious to repeat three times.
5/8 Peach Gardens – Mario Kart DS
Resurrected in 2005 Mario Kart DS, fans are excited to see the return of Peach Gardens mario kart 8, scheduled as the second stage of the Moon Cup. Beyond the thrilling nostalgic appeal, the track itself features a vertiginous maze of hedges with rare Chain Chomps and Moles jutting out of the ground, giving drivers much more to dodge, dodge and swerve than other racers.
Loaded with intense hairpin turns, 90-degree corners, bridges and wicked roundabouts to go with bricks, cobblestones, dirt roads and more, Peach Gardens is one of the most varied tracks from the past that finally returns to the MK8. Wide roads especially allow for lateral maneuverability and long-term drifting, which is sure to bring players back to the track again and again.
4/8 Merry Mountain – Mario Kart Tour
The premiere track that was presented on the 2020 winter tour in MK Tour, Merry Mountain makes its glorious return MK8 just in time for Christmas. A true gift indeed, the holiday-themed track is sure to bring out the jolly Christmas spirit in all runners thanks to its holiday-themed iconography, including snowfalls, festive decorations, wrapped presents, candy canes, ornaments ‘trees and the like. It’s impossible not to smile when we hit the slopes.
Unfortunately, aside from the new anti-gravity section, Merry Mountain doesn’t feature many new design changes, which detracts from its excitement a bit. With revised graphics, on the other hand, Merry Mountain may not be as fun, diverse or challenging as Mount Wario, but its exciting climb/descent layout is the closest thing to skiing in the game, a transcendent feeling that most tracks they do not offer
3/8 Boo Lake – GBA
Scheduled as the second track of the Rock Cup a mario kart 8, Lake Boo has been completely renovated since the 2001 original MK Super Circuit GBA design and upgrade. The big complaint in the first iteration was the lack of water despite being named Boo Lake, which forced players to stay on a borderless bridge without falling into a black abyss. The new version goes further to rectify this, which will make players happy.
Now, with a large body of creepy water with rise and fall bridges on top of the surface and a fascinating underwater part, Lake Boo is not just added as a form of nostalgic fan service. Instead, the game designers have listened to the previous complaints about Boo Lake and made the necessary changes to improve as a permanent accessory rather than a one-off Halloween (GBA) addition. The result is a vastly improved and multi-faceted track that is sure to keep players coming back for more.
2/8 Rainbow Road – Mario Kart 7 3DS
Always a challenging fan favorite, the return of MK7‘s Rainbow Road is sure to be an epic addition MK8. Beyond registering as the first open-loop Rainbow Road in franchise history, the gorgeous graphical upgrades are truly out of this world, allowing players to orbit planets, speed through Saturn’s rings, drive through craters of the moon, dodge the swift flight. meteorites and slalom through the cosmos like a real astronaut.
Although some may think of adding a fourth version of Rainbow Road to MK8 is over the top, the three disparate sections, the nostalgic N64 soundtrack and the new cosmic delights clearly make it one of the most anticipated new songs in the Booster Course Pass Wave 3. Regardless of the version, Rainbow Road is always a draw popular for MK fans and this one is no exception.
1/8 Maple Treeway – Mario Kart Wii
Scheduled as the fourth and last stage of the Rock Cup a MK8, Maple Treeway is easily the top draw of the 3rd wave of the Booster Course Pass. As well as saving the best for last in the Rock Cup as a difficulty marker, Maple Treeway appears first and far more prominently in the trailer than any other new track, indicating how proud Nintendo is of the change of image Fans have been clamoring for his return and Nintendo finally answered their prayers!
Simply one of the most original, fun and brilliantly designed courses MK history, Maple Treeway has it all MK fans want and more. Cannonballs that send drivers flying through the air, ridiculous U-turns, bridge ramps with booster pads, three useful hidden shortcuts each MK The player should use, underground tunnels, narrow tree branches, very energetic music and an impressive central tree house that is sure to make everyone feel like a kid again. Maple Treeway is the cream of the crop.
