Kim Yo Jong made the comment in reference to condemnations of North Korea’s missile tests by US-aligned nations after a UN Security Council meeting on Friday.

“The US should be aware that no matter how hard it tries to disarm (North Korea), it will never be able to deprive [North Korea] of his right to self-defense and that the more inclined he is to the anti-[North Korea] acts, will face a more fatal security crisis,” Kim Yo Jong said in a statement to state media.

The Security Council meeting was called after the North Korean military test-fired ICBM missiles, apparently to bolster national self-defense.

Kim Yo Jong criticized the United States for its “disgusting joint statement together with people like Britain, France, Australia, Japan and South Korea.”

State media KCNA said on Saturday that Kim had observed the launch of a new type of intercontinental ballistic missile on Friday with his wife Ri Sol Ju and their “beloved daughter”.

The Rodong Sinmun newspaper published photos of Kim looking at a missile with his daughter.

The 38-year-old ruler said the launch of the Hwasong-17 missile, the longer range missile and nuclear capability – proved that it has a reliable weapon to contain US-led military threats.

Japanese Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada said the weapon could travel up to 9,320 miles, enough to reach the continental United States.
