A God of War spin-off may highlight the God of mischief
Published in 2020, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a short sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man which sees a young Miles adapt to his role as New York City’s newest superhero. While the game tells an original story that advances the narrative of Insomniac’s Marvel Universe, Miles Morales it’s a small experience that sticks closely to its predecessor’s open-world gameplay and design. New powers, gadgets and enemies help the game Miles Morales feel cool, but the game’s campaign is shorter than average and there’s less side content to explore. Releasing a short spin-off rather than a full-scale sequel follows in the footsteps of other games, such as 2017 unexplored spin-off of the series The Lost Legacy i Dishonored: Death of the Outsider.
A standalone spin-off from God of War Ragnarok, focusing on Atreus and Angrboda’s journey to find the Giants, could end the Norse saga of the series for good. This game could develop Loki’s mythical sons like Fenrir and Jormungandr, while possibly introducing other unseen descendants like Hel and Sleipnir. As the game’s only playable character, Atreus could receive a slew of new moves and gear different from his Talon Bow, making him just as compelling to control and develop as his father. Atreus’ relationships with characters like his former best friend Sindri and Thor’s daughter Thrud could also be concluded before the series’ possible transition to a new world. god of war Director Cory Barlog also recently promised an answer to the game’s biggest question of 2018, referring to the identity of the person who sounded the horn to summon Jormungandr while Atreus was sick. God of War Ragnarok It surprisingly fails to clear up this mystery, but a spin-off title starring Atreus could explain the event as a meeting between the hero and his son meandering through time travel.
god of war The Norse saga works great as a straightforward duology, but some plot points need to be addressed before the franchise explores a new mythology. The remaining Jotun sons of Loki must be introduced and the identity of who sounded the horn of the World Serpent in the first game must be revealed. A short epilogue to God of War Ragnarok could be a massive hit following the formula set by Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
