Mass Effect 3’s conclusion continues to be divisive among fans, and cinematic designer Violet McVinnie has shared a much-preferred alternate ending.


Former BioWare cinematic designer Violet McVinnie recently revealed an alternate ending Mass effect 3 that sees Shepard solving the universe’s problems in the best possible way. The final installment in the epic sci-fi trilogy was widely panned, particularly due to its missing line of color-coded endings. The three official finals a Mass effect 3 are considered disappointing, but McVinnie has now shared a fun and much preferable way to conclude Shepard’s story.

A recent post on Twitter from Violet McVinney (via GamesRadar) shows an alternative ending a Mass effect 3 which he created to celebrate the completion of the project. The actual ending of the game has Shepard choose between three different solutions to the Reaper invasion after the death of the Illusive Man. However, McVinnie’s glorious alternate ending sees Shepard and the Illusive Man simply kiss and make up as Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” plays triumphantly. The master cinematic designer also apparently gave this same treatment to other BioWare game endings, including Dragon Age 2.

Mass effect 3 has one of the most infamous split endings in gaming, leaving most fans disappointed by the conclusion of Shepard’s story. Violet McVinnie was responsible for creating the actual scenes in the game, but the alternate scene where Shepard and the Illusive Man work out their differences romantically might be the cinematic designer’s best work. Commander Shepard usually chooses between three colors at the end of Mass effect 3but McVinnie’s alternate ending allows the hero to choose love.
